<image:title>ABOUT - THE CONVERSATION WITH VICTORIA ARACELI VANN</image:title>
<image:caption>Araceli Marigold Liqueur was created by Founder & CEO, Victoria Araceli Vann, as a tribute to her love of Mexico and the Hispanic, Latin celebration El Día de los Muertos. Victoria explains, "Rather than just choosing to place a Día de los Muertos inspired label on a tequila, wine or beer bottle, I wanted something much more meaningful that truly honored the love of people and family, which is what El Día de los Muertos is all about. My inspiration for Araceli Marigold Liqueur came from the beautiful Orange Marigold (cempasuchil) flowers of Mexico, which are profoundly a significant symbol used throughout Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations. Stunning displays of marigolds are used in abundance to decorate elaborate reverent statues, altars, crosses, garlands, clothing, gardens, pathways and walkways, and are used eminently throughout the celebration. It is believed that the scent or the fragrance of the Marigold flowers serve as a guide for spirits, in finding their way, back to join amongst loving family gatherings honoring them. I thought, how amazing it would be, if I were able to capture the essence of these magical flowers and create a beautiful liqueur as a tribute to both the Marigold Flower and Día de los Muertos together, wherein which people could celebrate their loved ones year round. After much research, I discovered that Marigold flowers contain unique healing properties, and have been used throughout the world for medicinal purposes dating back to the ancient Aztecs.</image:caption>

<image:title>ABOUT</image:title>
<image:caption>In developing the formula for Araceli, I didn't want the liquid to be overly sweet, and I wanted a higher alcohol content than most liqueur brands. My ultimate goal was to create a product that would taste amazing straight from the bottle, but also I wanted it to be one that would mix and blend suitably with most other spirit categories. The development of the actual Araceli formula took a considerable amount of time to perfect, and after much, much trial and tribulation, I finally found the perfect blend for the brand. At that point, I hired a small boutique distillery to help with the finalization and stabilization of the Araceli Marigold Liqueur formula, and to prepare it for market. The second piece of the puzzle was to create a package for Araceli that was equally as special as the liquid itself. I knew that I needed to create something that would stand alone in an overcrowded beverage marketplace and connect with both younger and older consumers across the board. In creating the label for the liqueur, there were several key elements involved. First of all, the label required exceptional artwork that captured the beauty of Día de los Muertos in my opinion, the “sugar skull” make-up, and the beautiful Marigold Flower along with it’s majestic, breathtaking color and design, and secondly, I wanted the label to be as substantial as possible, to encompass the entire bottle as much as possible, and also emulate a high quality descriptive piece of artwork.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/60b54e6e8856205429a3dfcc/1623213046735-6TDCUZOCHQVLAJH72PWB/DSC08335.JPG</image:loc>
<image:title>ABOUT</image:title>
<image:caption>So I specifically custom designed the bottle to allow for an acceptable amount of room on the front of the bottle to embrace the over-sized label artwork, characterizing what I had envisioned, and I do believe that I've succeeded in achieving my goal, as the Araceli packaging is simply stunning! I'm quite pleased with it. We have found that people are automatically visually drawn to the packaging and want a bottle of Araceli Marigold Liqueur albeit without even sampling it first! It's just that special! Araceli Marigold Liqueur is still in its very early stages and we've had nothing but positive reviews and feedback from distributors, retailers and consumers alike, which is an extremely rare feat in the beverage industry these days." "As we see numerous beverage products enter the marketplace each year, it is on the rare occasion that a product stands out in the crowd of over-saturated beverage brands. Araceli Marigold Liqueur is indeed one of those very special brands that not only stands out from the crowd, but it brings something new and exciting to the table. Araceli is a unique exceptional liqueur that represents love, honor, and respect, and it carries with it a deep spiritual connection with people unlike any other brand in the marketplace. People love Araceli and the historic, centuries-old story that comes with it." -Victoria Araceli Vann.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Each fall, the hillsides of Mexico come alive with the seasonal arrival of the beautiful bright orange marigold flowers, known in Mexico as cempasúchil, or flor de muerto. The marigold flowers bloom at the end of the rainy season in Mexico, and are ready to be harvested just in time for Día de Muertos. The marigold flower is one of the most easily recognizable symbols of Día de Los Muertos and it plays a significant role in the celebration of honoring and remembering deceased loved ones. It is believed that the marigold flowers’ distinctive fragrance and vibrant colors, which symbolize the sun’s rays, help to guide spirits back to the land of the living to join their relatives and loved ones.</image:caption>

<image:title>Marigold Flower</image:title>
<image:caption>During this important celebration, sensational displays of marigold flowers decorate grave sites, archways, walkways and crucifixes. The flowers are also used to adorn private altars or ofrendas constructed in honor of those who have passed. Marigold petals are pulled from the flower and used to make elaborate designs, or placed on the floor in front of the altar to mark a path for the spirits to follow. Sugar skulls, candles, fruits, the favorite drinks of the deceased and their possessions are also used to decorate the altars. Some family members chose to build elaborate tapestries using marigolds. Altar remembrances often celebrate the life of the dearly departed by exhibiting what they loved in life -- their profession, community, family, hobbies, and even their pets.</image:caption>

Throughout Mexico, The United States, and numerous countries around the world families often gather in cemeteries at the grave sites of their departed to honor their loved ones, and celebrate the significance of their legacies. <image:title>Dia de Los Muertos - Día de Los Muertos</image:title>
<image:caption>El Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), is an annual traditional holiday celebrated and acknowledged throughout Mexico, and other countries around the world, but specifically on November 1st and 2nd in Mexico. The holiday focuses on the gathering of family and friends to remember and honor beloved ancestors, family members, and friends who are no longer with us. It is an ancient and enduring ritual where the living commune with the spirits of the deceased – a mystical night when the veil is lifted between the two realms and they may share a day together. In celebration, beautiful altars are created in homes and public spaces featuring marigold flowers, sugar skulls, favorite foods, photos, drinks (most notably liquor), and personal significant mementos of those who have passed on. The sacred “Flower of the Dead” Marigold is an important floral feature on colorful altars built by families to celebrate the unique details of their beloved deceased family member’s life. It is believed that spirits of the dead visit the living during the celebration. The sacred marigold flowers guide spirits of the deceased to the colorful altars by following the flowers’ fragrant scent. On the eve of El Día de Los Muertos families often gather in cemeteries around altars of their loved ones. Music bands play music, vendors sell merchandise, and all at once the cemeteries become a place of community, reverence, remembrance and celebration.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dia de Los Muertos</image:title>
<image:caption>The historical roots of El Día de Los Muertos date back to native Mexico, for more than 3,000 years. Throughout each period in Mexican culture, death seems to hold no terror. In Mexican art, legends, and religion, death has not been a mysterious and fearful presence but a realistic recognizable character, as much a part of life as life itself. El Día de Los Muertos expresses this perspective: It is not a mournful commemoration but a happy and colorful celebration where death takes on a lively, friendly expression, and is not frightening or strange. There is no place for sorrow or weeping for this could be interpreted as discourteous to the spirits of deceased family members of whom are cheerfully visiting with the living. In Mexican culture particularly, it is believed that life and death are part of the same linear process. Birth leads into life, and life leads to death. Join the ends of the process and the cycle of life is created. In present-day Mexico, El Día de Los Muertos is a rapidly changing tradition. Each November the festivities and artisanal work attract a myriad of tourists and visitors to Mexico, and with each year the holiday is becoming more commercialized. Celebrations in general are now more festive and much more like a holiday rather than exclusively a holy day. Once observed largely by people of Mexican heritage, Día de los Muertos is quickly flourishing in the United States throughout a mainstream audience. From museums to dolls, to the Academy Award winning animated feature “COCO” by Disney Pixar Productions, Día de los Muertos has expanded far beyond the Latino community. Many cities across the United States have seen observances swell as people of other cultures are celebrating the event for the very first time, along with having a newfound appreciation for this centuries old celebration.</image:caption>

Visualize instead, millions of Monarch butterflies on the wing, fluttering in an endless stream into a few remote groves of firs in the hills above the town. The local people have long believed the Monarchs are actually the returning spirits of their deceased relatives, mysteriously arriving at the same time each year, coinciding with The Day of the Dead. Aztec tradition holds that the souls of the departed will return as hummingbirds and butterflies, and the link between myth and the Monarchs’ annual return spans centuries. During the 4 to 5 months that the butterflies stay in Mexico, the forests become an orange wonderland. Pine, oak, and oyamel trees are completely covered with butterflies that tend to stay very close together. When the temperatures are too cold – especially early in the morning – they sleep in clusters and close their wings, so at first sight they might seem like dry leaves on the trees. When it gets a little bit warmer, they open their colorful wings wide and fly around the forest as their mating ritual, creating a magical scene.</image:caption>

<image:title>Monarch Butterfly - The Monarch butterfly population moves closer to extinction</image:title>
<image:caption>The number of monarchs has decreased significantly over the last 20 years, and massive efforts to address this problem are currently underway. In December 2020, after an extensive status assessment of the monarch butterfly, it was determined that listing the monarch under the Endangered Species Act is warranted. Given the scope of this challenge, we must all work together to improve, restore and create pollinator habitat. Together we can save the monarch No matter who you are or where you live, you can get involved today. Start by planting native milkweed and nectar plants that are local to your area. Garden organically to minimize your impacts on pollinators and their food plants. The monarch’s phenomenal transcontinental migration inspires awe among scientists and citizens alike. Imagine the journey - flying more than 3,000 miles to Mexico, not knowing where you can rest or where you will have your next meal. The sun is your guide on daily flights, traveling about 50 miles each day. You often catch free rides on thermal air currents, sometimes flying a mile high. When rain splashes down, the wind blows strong and your body temperature drops below 86 degrees, you are unable to fly. Monarchs must time their spring and fall migrations to coincide with optimal habitat conditions, including nectar flowers for butterflies and milkweed for caterpillars. Since milkweed is the only food source for monarch caterpillars, if there’s no milkweed, there are no monarchs - it’s that simple. If nectar sources and milkweed go away, the population declines. #SAVETHEMONARCHS</image:caption>
